Release Notes for September 2021

The 2021.09.07 release for the Epicor S+ platform consists of the following Security and Feature
enhancements.

Security Enhancements

Mobile App Version Update
The Epicor Scheduling+ App users will be notified of an update to their mobile app for all standard and mandatory releases. The users will be required to perform the update, as they need to be on the new version to receive strong password-related warning messages.

Strong Passwords
All existing Epicor Scheduling+ users will be required to update their current password to a strong
password containing at least 12 characters for security purposes. Additionally, strong password checks
have been set in place for all new users.
The above-mentioned processes are expected to be carried out in two weeks starting from the day of the release.

A breakdown of the flow is as follows:

Activity Week Activity Date Activity Description
Week 1 Sep 7 - Sep 13, 2021 Mobile app users (iOS & Android) will start seeing warning
messages upon login and performing other actions like ‘clock
in/out’ to update their apps and their access will be
restricted unless they do so.
Week 2 Sep 14, 2021 “Password Expiration” command is run that will set all user
passwords to expire in seven days.
Users will receive a password expiration notice on their
registered emails, and warning messages upon login, but can
use the app
Week 2 Sep 14, 2021 Users who still have not updated their passwords will be sent
a reminder email.
Week 2 Sep 14, 2021 Restricted usage on web & mobile apps with warning
messages; access will be restored on changing the password.

Feature Enhancements

Hide Request Types from Payroll if Not n Use
A new feature ‘Hide Request Types if not in use’ has been added to the application that will allow the managers to hide Request Types if there are no hours for those request types in the selected pay period from the All-Employees’ Payroll and Store Employees Payroll screens, including the exports that can be generated from these screens.
For this purpose, a new setting titled Hide Request Types from Payroll if not in use is added under the Company Time Clock Settings > Configuration Tab.

  • When enabled, this setting would hide the Request Type columns from the payroll if they were
not used in that pay period.
  •  When disabled, this setting would not affect the current system behavior and all request types
(paid) would show up on Payroll for all intervals even if they were not used.
Managers can enable or disable this setting anytime for their company/organization and this would apply to all the stores under that company. However, all request types will still remain accessible to employees, and management can approve or deny their respective requests.

Additionally, a message on the Request Type form is added, advising the users to limit their Request Type code to three characters, so that in case of multiple columns on the Payroll export, each column fits in properly on the PDF.
