Complete the following steps to create a new task:
From the Settings menu, select Tasks.
Select Create Task. The system displays the Task Settings window.
In the Task Settings popup window, enter the following details:
- Name: Enter the name of the task.
- Task Category: The category you want to assign to the task. For more information, see Task Category.
- Start Time: The start time of the task.
- End Time: The end time of the task. Note: You can set the start and end times of the tasks beyond the store start and end times. This allows you to assign tasks to employees who work overnight shifts.
- Select Scope: You can select the names of the stores where the task can be assigned.
- Description: Additional information on the task.
- Can be assigned to more than one person at a time?: Switch the toggle to YES if you want to assign this task to multiple employees on the same day.
- Duration: Expected time to complete the task.
- Recurrence
Turn on the Recurrence button if it is a recurring task. Select the applicable boxes to select how often the task repeats and on which days.
Turn off the Recurrence button if it is a one-time task and select the Occurrence Date.
Select Save. The system displays the Position(s) tab.
Check the positions to which the task is to be assigned. You may also select multiple positions for a task. For example, if a task is to be performed by only a cashier, then only select the Cashier option. When you navigate to assign the task, the system displays only cashiers on the assignment list.
Select Next to open the Exemption(s) tab.
Select the exemptions to consider when assigning tasks by checking the appropriate boxes.
For example, if a task requires heavy lifting, check the box next to Lifting Heavy Objects to exclude employees with this exemption from the assignment list.
Select Next to open the Skill(s) tab.
Select the skills that are relevant to the task by checking the applicable skills.
Select Close. The task is successfully created.
