You can use Epicor Scheduling Plus to assign tasks to your employees in any one of two ways. In this article, you will learn how to assign a task.
Method 1
From the Menu Bar, select and expand the Tasks dropdown menu.
- Select Assign Tasks. The Task Assignments page displays a list of all tasks available to assign for the day.
- To filter the search, use the following fields:
- Category: Select the category of tasks from the drop-down menu. For example, housekeeping, inventory maintenance, etc. Visit Task Categories to learn more.
- Position: Choose the position required to fulfill the task.
- Type: Select the task type, whether assigned, unassigned, completed, or incomplete.
- Date range: Use the date range option to select the date you want to assign the task for.
- Serial number: (Optional) Expand the serial number drop-down to view more than the default number of tasks on the screen.
- Select the icon next to a task to display the list of employees that can be assigned with that task.
Sometimes, when you choose a later date from the calendar, an error message appears if the system fails to find employees scheduled on the selected date.
There are a few things to check and resolve the issue:
- Be sure to check you chose a date with employee shifts, and the shifts are published. If the task is for a certain position, ensure at least one qualified employee with that position is on the schedule.
- Employees scheduled for that day are exempt from the task.
- Check if a Position is assigned to the task from the Positions tab in the Task Settings form.
Method 2
You can also assign tasks directly from the shift settings.
- Click and expand the Scheduling dropdown menu.
-
Visit the Manage Schedule page.
-
Double-click on an existing shift of an employee.
The Edit Shift form appears.
- Select the Tasks tab to assign the applicable tasks from the list to the employee as part of his shift work.
- Select Save Tasks or Save & Close.
